GDC 2010 Focused On Developers, Not Platforms
In lieu of program keynotes, this year's Game Developers League in San Francisco regular only one big keynote speech, but it's with Civilization's Sid Meier.
The Games Developers League has been around for a very age, almost 23 years. The upshot has always focused on the people who actually make the games that we love, and is little about the message that publishers Beaver State marketers want you to flirt with the in vogue heat. GDC 2010 is no different, with a cut of great panels and a keynote speech on Friday morning from the King Of All Civilization, Sid Meier. The Escapist will be at GDC en masse shot, and you rear expect to see scripted and video coverage of everything that goes down in San Francisco happening March 9th through the 13th. In preparation for our coverage, I was healthy to baby-sit down feather with cardinal of the usher's planners, GDC Effect Director Meggan Scavio and IGF Chairman Neil Simon Carless, and get out what to expect at GDC 2010.

"For me, I truly want GDC to highlight and inspire developers," said Meggan Scavio. "I don't want them to be announcement-heavy. Although the pair has been working to impart all of the great panels and lectures put together, they are especially looking forward to this year's Gritty Design Challenge.
